Telegram Group Setup

It's simple.

Flip one switch in BotFather and your bot can read messages in Telegram group chats. Four steps, about two minutes.

By default, Telegram bots run in privacy mode, which means they only see messages that start with a slash command (like /help) when they're in a group. You need to turn that off so your SUPERCLAWS agent can read normal chat and respond like a human teammate.

Do this once per bot

1
Open BotFather in Telegram

Search for @BotFather in Telegram and open the chat. This is the official bot Telegram gives you for managing your own bots.

2
Send /mybots and tap your bot

BotFather replies with a list of bots you've created. Tap the one you use for SUPERCLAWS.

3
Tap Bot SettingsGroup PrivacyTurn off

BotFather will confirm: "Privacy mode is disabled." That's the only switch you need to flip.

4
You're done

Add your bot to any Telegram group chat. It will now see every message in the group, not just slash commands.

Bot still silent in the group? Remove the bot from the group and add it back. Telegram caches the old privacy setting until the bot leaves and rejoins.
